Story Inc. Asia is honoured to have been chosen by Create Hong Kong as one of the SMEs to participant in their CreateSmart Initiative facilitating growth of creative industries at Hong Kong - Asian Film Financing Forum (HAF). As one of the most important film-financing platform in Asia, HAF brings filmmakers with upcoming projects from Asia and beyond to Hong Kong for co-production ventures with top financiers, producers, bankers, distributors and buyers. Attended by more than 1,000 filmmakers and financiers from at least 39 countries and regions, around 30 projects are selected annually to participate in the three-day event. HAF is held concurrently with Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART) organised by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society (HKIFFS), the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Hong Kong Motion Picture Industry Association (MPIA), and funded by Create Hong Kong and Film Development Fund. Bank of America Merrill Lynch has formed a Global Advisory Council with 13 internationally recognised business academic and public police leaders to share their expertise and insights into on the global engagement and further strengthening the firm's client relationships with senior executives. They brought Story Inc. Asia to work with their marketing and corporate communications teams to produce a video to orientate these leaders. Using credentials video library we interwoven a narrative from the executive interviews and intercut regional footage and market statistic in motion graphics. Beginning with filming exploratory conversations with the executive committee, line of business and country heads. Then shooting regional footage on location in Beijing, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Shanghai, Singapore, and Sydney using computer control tracking across shots and locations. And designing a video library and database of transcribed sound bites and logged shots on a broadcast strength RAID system for quick and easy use. Al Jazeera has commissioned Story Inc. Asia to produce the documentary "Fashion Scrubs Up" for their Earthrise series. The award winning series explores solutions to today's environmental challenges, taking an upbeat look at ecological, scientific, technological and design projects the world over. In this episode Al Jazeera Correspondent Divya Gopalan meets Christina Dean founder of Redress a fashion NGO who promotes environmental sustainability in Asia's fashion industry by reducing textile waste, pollution, water and energy consumption. Through their innovative R Certificate they enable consumers to track the clothes journey from factory to retail, making fast fashion transparent for the first time. And through their EcoChic Design Awards they inspire young designers such as winner Janko Lam to create sustainable mass produced fashion. AIA Group is the largest independent publicly listed pan-Asian insurance group in the world. Having already produced their film to communicate their strategy, AIA brought in Story Inc. Asia to work with Imagination and Hiller Pharma to cover the leadership conference. With space limited for 300 of their top executives from around the region AIA needed to capture the message and get it out to the rest of team. With roaming camera crews capturing the live event in multiple formats to various audience: recap video to be turnaround that night for the attendees, summary videos to the team 300,000 team around the region the next day, and showcases video with group learnings. Sheraton Hotel & Resorts, part of the Starwood Hotel Group, has launched their Sheraton Fitness programmed by Core Performance. To promote it they are running a month long Sheraton Corporate Challenge to find China’s fittest company. The contestants have to increase their fitness over the campaign period. Chateau Margaux organized a gala dinner on the Great Wall of China in collaboration with Acker, Merrall & Condit the leading fine wine auction house. This unforgettable evening was held at Juyongguan, a restored section of the Great Wall just fifty kilometers from Beijing. Seventy-three guests, including some of the top wine collectors in Asia, were served fourteen vintages of Chateau Margaux paired perfectly with the dishes created and prepared by Guy Savoy, a three-star Michelin chef. In an effort to lend support to the protection of this UNESCO world heritage site, five unique lots were offered for auction with profits going to the China Great Wall Society, who watch over the conservation of the Great Wall. Formerly known as Texas Pacific Group, TPG Capital is one of the largest private equity investment firms in the world with over USD$50 billion assets across 18 funds. The shot focused on their involvement in the leading footwear company DAPHNE and the world’s leading new car dealership China Grand Automotive Group.
Fashion is self expression. marQ is fashion on the skin. marQ is a new designer label tattoo, the brain child of multifaceted serial entrepreneur Zac Lai: “Express yourself with marQ’s graphic tattoos’ anywhere on your body. Go ahead make you marQ”. Photographer Jon Tadashi Martin of Red Dog Studio was brought in to do the stills and Story Inc. Asia to do the brand film. Shot around a picnic in the park on a glorious sunny day on Hong Kong’s peak, and in Red Dog’s new studio in industrial Chai Wan district during a typhoon 8 making for a dynamic shoot and imagery. Londoners quartet The Shoestrung were brought into Hong Kong for the international art fair ARTHK by Mandy d’Abo founder and owner of the Cat Street Gallery. The gallery was one of the first in the Hong Kong’s new art hub Sheung Wan. Ann Tsang, the appointed luxury agency The Antithesis asked Story Inc. Asia to collaborate on a music video for the band’s new song Daily Bread. The video was shot on iPhones in and around SOHO & NOHO including a live performance at The Space and the recording session in the world class Red Room Studios in Aberdeen. A big thanks for assistance of digital media expert Nickey Khem.
Zzo Creative approached Story Inc. Asia to produce Schroders new regional TV commercial. Schroders is one of the world’s oldest asset management houses with 200 years of experience in the financial markets. The concept sees a stone archer statue come alive and shoot arrows through Asian capitals which join together and explode into fireworks over the heads of bankers in the financial district. This called for seamlessly blending live action with stock footage and visual effects (VFX). Stock footage was sourced and provided by Thought Equity. Live action shot by Joe Kwan. VFX created and composited by Carbon. Music tracks provided by Audio Network. Sound design and music mix engineered by Frederic Filleul at Turner Broadcasting Systems. Funds will go to Medecins Sans Frontieres and the Nippon SPCA in a ratio of 70/30 respectively.
Benesse Art Site is on Naoshima Island off the coast of Japan. It is art park combining the themes of “Nature and Art” in a complex that includes a luxury hotel and two museums: Benesse House Museum and Chichu Art Museum. Christian Rhomberg brought in Story Inc. Asia to create a documentary or as he called it, ‘a bricolage’. As a bonus we got to work with the digital media expert Nickey Khem and the creative artist Angela Kan which was a rare treat. Baosteel is third largest steel producer in the world and second largest in China.
