Noughts and Exes documentary

Story Inc. Asia has long been huge fans of Hong Kong's most talented band Noughts and Exes so we were delighted to ask to produce their album launch concert and a documentary as co-production with Laundromatte. The documentary is slated to premiere at the Hong Kong International Film Festival. The band's last record A Fine Line was voted a Top Ten Album for China by Time Out Magazine and they were voted TIME Magazine's number two Asian bands to watch. Noughts and Exes's Indie folk pop sound has by lead by its multicultural line up from Hong Kong, Canada, Britain and Australia and is finding a place in the hearts of a growing number of fans. Key crew includes cameramen: Dean Head, Derrick Fong, Luke Casey, Jason Riddell, John Elphinstone, Nick Dearman, and Simon Fuller; co-producers and co-directors Joshua Wong and Niall Phelan.

The Shoestrung music video

Londoners quartet The Shoestrung were brought into Hong Kong for the international art fair ARTHK by Mandy d’Abo founder and owner of the Cat Street Gallery. The gallery was one of the first in the Hong Kong’s new art hub Sheung Wan. Ann Tsang, the appointed luxury agency The Antithesis asked Story Inc. Asia to collaborate on a music video for the band’s new song Daily Bread. The video was shot on iPhones in and around SOHO & NOHO including a live performance at The Space and the recording session in the world class Red Room Studios in Aberdeen. Directed by Niall Phelan. A big thanks for assistance of digital media expert Nickey Khem.

Unity for Japan video

In response to the Earthquake and Tsunami that stuck Japan in March 2011, Unity is an original song by Detroit Diamond mixed with original as well as licensed tracks from Universal Music and EMI. Mixed by Tung Tang at Schtung Music. Ann Tsang of The Antithesis brought in Story Inc. Asia to shoot a performance at Schtung Music’s recording studios and intercut that with news footage from the major TV news networks. Edited by Stuart Rankin. Directed by Niall Phelan. An initiative3 (i3) of PlanJapan to raise HK$3m over the next year through creative collaboration around the world. Funds will go to Medecins Sans Frontieres and the Nippon SPCA in a ratio of 70/30 respectively.
